We are seeking a highly skilled ColdFusion Developer to support enterprise-level geospatial systems and infrastructure within a federal environment. This role is critical to the maintenance, administration, and performance optimization of GIS platforms, databases, and web applications. The successful candidate will demonstrate deep technical expertise in ArcGIS Enterprise technologies, scripting and automation, and high-availability system design—all within virtualized or cloud-hosted environments.

  • Salary range: $100000-$135000 annually
  • Position status: Full Time; with benefits

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain, support, and enhance existing ColdFusion-based web applications.
  • Design and implement new features, modules, and integrations as required.
  • Ensure Section 508 compliance and usability standards in all deliverables.
  • Perform daily system monitoring, log reviews, and verification of scheduled jobs.
  • Conduct troubleshooting, incident triage, and resolution per established SLAs.
  • Apply patches, hot fixes, and upgrades to maintain a highly available environment.
  • Support managing and optimizing backend integrations with Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Conduct performance tuning, backups, and data recovery.
  • Implement secure connections to external systems as required.
  • Maintain application source code in version control repositories.
  • Apply branching strategies, peer reviews, and release management best practices.
  • Ensure reproducibility of production deployments from controlled repositories.
  • Ensure compliance with federal security mandates and secure coding practices.
  • Identify and remediate vulnerabilities.
  • Maintain documentation for security planning and system authorization requirements.
  • Document workflows, business rules, and system architecture.
  • Provide knowledge transfer sessions and training to staff as needed.
  • Develop technical runbooks, SOPs, and transition/exit documentation.
  • Support disaster recovery (DR) and continuity of operations (COOP) planning.
  • Participate in DR exercises and ensure recovery objectives are met.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3–5+ years of hands-on experience with Adobe ColdFusion (preferably ColdFusion 2021 or later).
  • Experience with IIS on Windows Server environments.
  • Proficiency in version control (e.g., Git), structured change management, and release processes.
  • Familiarity with system monitoring tools (e.g., FusionReactor, Splunk).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of secure coding standards and compliance frameworks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Excellent documentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with enterprise GIS integrations.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, database design, and query optimization.
  • Familiarity with IT service management systems such as ServiceNow.
  • Knowledge of modernizing legacy ColdFusion applications and migrating to newer platforms.
  • Previous experience in federal, healthcare, or large-scale enterprise IT environments.
